Biography

A Chartered Management Accountant, Judy Finn has extensive experience in a variety of roles in both the public and private sectors.

She previously worked as an Industrial Engineer in venture capital and had various roles in the National Health Service before moving to the technical department of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Judy has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and a MA in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University under her belt. Her main teaching areas are strategic management accounting, risk management and internal control.

She teaches strategic management accounting on the MBA and MA Management programmes, risk management for CIMA's professional exams (strategic level) and general finance at undergraduate level.

Judy’s personal interests include tall ship sailing with the Jubilee Sailing Trust and singing which she practices as a member of a small choir performing around the south west.

Research interests

Her current research project focuses on the recession and women led local businesses. Judy is a contributor and reviewer on the publication Fraud Risk Management – A Guide to Good Practice (2nd Edition) (CIMA 2009) and also edited the first edition.
