MA Marketing Management (Part Time)
The MA Marketing Management degree at Southampton Solent University will provide you with the knowledge and skills to enter a career in marketing management.
Entry level
The normal minimum entry requirement is a UK-equivalent lower second undergraduate degree in any discipline. However, applicants may also be admitted by virtue of prior learning and/or experience.
Additional qualifications may give one or more unit exemptions, although in many cases, applicants may nevertheless be advised to commence the course from the start. This may be particularly the case where relevant work experience is lacking.
Generally, holders of the following qualifications may apply:

CIM Advanced Certificate in Marketing (pre-2004)/CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing

Business degree without marketing specialisation

Marketing-based degree

MBA
English Language Requirements
Applicants for whom English is not their first language must normally demonstrate that they possess one of the following qualifications at the stated grade:

Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) A or B

IELTS 6.5 or more

TOEFL 600 or more, or 250 for the computer version.

We additionally reserve the right to determine admission to the course by interview or other appropriate means, and may ask students to attend English language lessons in addition to their MA subjects.

The MA in Marketing is a universally-recognised qualification. The syllabus provides in-depth and practical study of a wide range of marketing topics and gives students a strategic, international and ethical perspective.
Professional accreditation
This course is recognised by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and gives direct entry to the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. MA graduates automatically qualify for membership of CIM. For existing members, the MA and Postgraduate Diploma may contribute CPD points towards Chartered Marketer Status.

Course content
Key features of this course are the client consultancy project and the residential weekend in January when students carry out a team-based strategic business simulation. The full-time course is structured to enable students to concentrate on their Marketing Dissertation, during the summer period. The taught part of the course takes place in periods 1 (October-January) and 2 (February-June). Students study four units each in periods 1 and 2 from a list of core and option units:
