Entry level
As a guide, the normal minimum entry qualifications are:
-
C2000: 120 points with at least one 6-unit award,
-
Pre-C2000: 8 points from two GCE A Level passes and five GCSE/GCE O Levels (Grade C or above) including Mathematics and English or,
-
a good BTEC National Certificate/Diploma or,
-
GNVQ (Advanced Level) in a relevant discipline or,
-
relevant Access course or,
-
other qualifications equivalent to the above.
Applicants without the standard entry qualifications may be offered a place if they can show that they can benefit from the course and complete it satisfactorily.
Entry to Level II of the course (Year 3) may be offered to holders of a suitable HND or HNC

On this vocational programme, you'll be equipped with the knowledge, abilities and technical skills to pursue your chosen career as a manager within the construction industry. Professional accreditation
The course provides graduates will full exemption from the professional examinations of both the Chartered Institute of Building and the Association of Building Engineers.

Assessment
Methods of assessment include examinations, assignments that include essays, reports and presentations.
Special features
The course is part of the Built Environment Degree programme with shared modules across various pathways, which allows you to study and interact with those from other disciplines within the programme. This is a good way to develop an understanding of building projects as an integrated process.
The course's vocational and practical emphasis is intended to develop your professionalism and maximise your employment opportunities. Your studies are also enhanced by real case studies and guest speakers from relevant disciplines.

Fees
Fees for the 2011/12 academic year are:
£1,950 pa or £565 per 20 points unit for UK and EU students. Overseas students please contact the faculty for details of fees.
