Graduate profile
Steph Esther Mekwuye
“On the LLB course your ability to research is a core skill; I knew how to find relevant cases, legislations, news, journals and how to use the information for my assessments. I learnt to compile presentations in no time, I would brace myself and stand behind a podium to present to over 100 people. Since helping others comes quite naturally to me, this job was just right.
“During my studies I decided I wanted to create a student forum, a place where law students could exchange ideas and debate different points of view, so I founded the Debating Society in my second year. Students were able to come together and chat about anything from Facebook antics to intellectual property rights to religion!
“I also became a member of the Justice Student Network and attended their conferences in London. I remember returning home after these gatherings with a buzz and a sense of achievement and I was over the moon when Roger Smith, Director of Justice, accepted my invitation to visit our university.
"Studying law has been fulfilling and I am now a very happy LLB Law graduate!”
