Student profile

Francesca Antrobus

Francesca Antrobus"Marketing with Events is a really broad subject, there is so much room to explore! At college you get a main text book that takes you through a course, but at university you have to study a variety of texts to gain knowledge of your subject. Plus, the lecturers are experts in their fields – it’s fascinating speaking to them.

"During my time here, I was involved in the university's mentoring scheme, where a local business person comes in and teaches you about the working world. I was lucky enough to be able to shadow my mentor at her work which was a great experience. She’s arranged for me to do work experience at her company which will really boost my CV, which she and I have been working on. She’s really encouraged me to go for what I want.

"There is a great social life being a student. So far, I have had two amazing years with a great set of new friends. I won’t deny that studying is hard work – you’ll be in for a shock if you just come to party – but get a good balance and you will love it."
