University Bursaries

Q. How do I apply for the University Bursary?

A. All the information for the University bursary is taken from the Student Finance Form (PN1) you completed and returned to Student Finance England (SFE).

Q. I’m paying my own tuition fees. Can I still get a bursary from the University?

A. Even if you don’t intend to get a tuition fee loan to pay your fees you can still complete the PN1 form to allow your details to be shared with the University for bursary purposes, you just don’t complete the loan section.

Q. I don’t want to take out the maintenance loan. Can I still get the Maintenance Grant and University bursary?

A. Yes, you don’t have to take out any loans to get the non-repayable funds. However, you still need to have completed the PN1 form.

Q. I’ve not heard anything about my University Bursary.

A. You may not hear from us for a few weeks, as they are only just being approved. Once this is done and you are eligible for one, you will receive a letter from the University. The bursary will be paid in February and May 2010. It is paid in two instalments.

Q. Who can I contact about my Bursary if I don’t hear anything by December?
