Alumni Association
Southampton Solent University Alumni Association was set up in March 1996 and there are currently 25,000 members world-wide. Membership is automatic upon graduation from the University and the aim of the association is to maintain lifelong links with former students, to celebrate their successes, provide support for their futures and promote contact with their lost friends and colleagues.
Although incorporated as an independent higher education institution as recently as 1989, Southampton Solent University's history can be traced back to a private School of Art founded in 1855 which eventually became Southampton College of Art. Mergers with the Southampton College of Technology and, later, the College of Nautical Studies at Warsash saw the establishment of Southampton Institute in 1984. The Institute became Southampton Solent University on 15 August 2005.
Anyone who has graduated from any of the aforementioned institutions is entitled to membership of the Alumni Association. If you are a lost alumnus and you would like to join the Alumni Association and receive your free issues of headway, or you have moved since graduation and no longer receive headway, please fill in our join/update details form.
