Environmental Policy
Southampton Solent University believes that protection of the environment is an integral part of good institutional practice and that it has a duty to satisfy itself and others that all of its operations at its city centre sites, at Warsash and on the Solent are conducted with proper regard for the environment.
The University is committed to maintaining and, wherever possible, improving the quality of the environment both for the people who live and work in the University, and for the wider community, now and in the future.
The University seeks to make the most effective and efficient use of all resources, encouraging all members of the University community to develop an ecologically sound approach to their work.

Carbon Management Plan
This Carbon Management Plan represents the culmination of the initial work undertaken by the University in collaboration with the Carbon Trust, as part of the Higher Education Carbon Management Programme.

Sustainable Food Policy
The University currently outsources the catering service across Campus and works closely with the contract partner to deliver quality and excellence with a strong ethical bias. The partnership ensures that the contractor is actively encouraged to review the service provision, assess and improve offers and continue to maintain the high standards necessary to meet the expectations of the University.
In its continuing partnership with Sodexo, the University is committed to a Sustainable Food Policy on both its campus’ located in central Southampton and at Warsash.
