Southampton City Council
The Stronger Communities and Equalities Team at Southampton City Council has been working in partnership with Southampton Solent University for a number of years offering Media/Business Studies Students project placements.
In the most recent round students picked up three projects for us:
Hate crime and harassment in the food eating sector – “Groups of students help us carry out very valuable pieces of research work and make important connections for the future. They are always very professional, enthusiastic, creative and self-sufficient. They bring a fresh perspective to the work, adapt well to any guidance or updates and the written reports and presentations produced at the end of their placements are always excellent.”
To investigate how Southampton City Council can engage with young people - “The student projects have enabled us to look into important areas of our work. How do we communicate with our customers? How do we get the message to our customers? They have conducted valuable research which will enable us as an organisation to improve customer care to all of our customers.”
