Law Cluster

Defence of the Person and of Property

The law cluster’s research this year is into defence of the person and of property, because the present law on the topic is unclear and, so, unsatisfactory. The position under the criminal law will be compared with that under the civil law, and related issues of human rights and legal theory will also be examined. Recommendations will then be made for improvement of the law.

The project will benefit our students, on the LLB in particular, as it will feed into our teaching of criminal law, tort and human rights law.

Other outputs could include articles in refereed and professional journals, and seminars to employers and practitioners.
