Facilities
The Language Centre 
The University’s Language Centre contains a Can8 Virtual Lab - a network-based interactive, multimedia language-learning facility, with audio, video, satellite and internet facilities. Use of this facility is integrated into our teaching programme, but is equally open to students who are not enrolled on language subjects.
The Can8 Multimedia Lab
This is the University’s multimedia language laboratory. You can access it on-campus computers and this of course includes rooms in the Language Centre. Depending on which stage you are doing, you may need to use the Can8 Lab for your assessed work. The system is also available to everybody.
Computer-Assisted 
Language Learning (CALL)
There are packages available for use on Language Centre computers.
Live Television and DVD/Video
Live television is available (including satellite reception of programmes in French, Italian, Spanish and German), as are DVD/video players for use with our video collection. You can ask to view a recent recording of a TV news programme in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
