Innovative Teaching
On all our Tourism courses emphasis is placed on real world situations that involve data analysis, decision-making and computer simulations such as the HOTS Programme||. There is also the opportunity for students to take part in optional overseas field trips. In past years these have included a trip to The Gambia|| (pictured).
In addition to developing international tourism management knowledge and skills within a worldwide framework, all students on the BA (Hons) International Tourism Management course undertake a period of study abroad for the full second academic year of the course. This is undertaken in a higher education establishment at one of Southampton Solent University's international partners in Canada, Finland, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Sweden, or the USA.
Students may study a foreign language as part of the course and will have the opportunity to take part in international study visits at each level of the course.
