Environmental and occupational acoustics
This area is concerned with acoustics and psychoacoustics, in particular the effects of noise exposure and noise pollution on human health and well being. Areas of current research include: Occupational noise in the entertainment industries, Noise exposure and hearing loss amongst children and young adults; The social need for ‘quiet’ space; Urban access to ‘quiet’ spaces; Noise mapping and modelling; Policy development in planning recreational spaces and Soundscape Preservation.
