Southampton Solent University| has been delivering courses on GMDSS to the maritime community since 1991. Specialist GMDSS facilities are located at Warsash Maritime Academy (WMA)|, offering Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA)| approved GOC, ROC, LRC & other related courses. The University's Maritime and Technology Faculty|. is also the GMDSS Regional Examination Centre (REC) which administers radio operator certificate examinations on behalf of AMERC| in Central Southern England.
