Gary Becheley
Died February 2007
Gary Becheley, Media Resources Technician, died tragically on 18th February 2007. University staff and students were very shocked and saddened at the tragic loss of such a popular and well liked colleague and friend.
Gary joined the Media Resources team at Southampton Solent University in February 2000. Gary was a hard-worker, who always contributed to the development of Media Resources Unit. He excelled in helping his colleagues and students wherever he could.
In addition to his role in Media Resources, Gary had also been a part of the First Aid team at the University for over three years and he also enjoyed filming external development projects for the Faculty of Technology. Outside of the University, Gary did freelance work in sound and vision projects with external companies.
Gary always lived life to the full, and in the way he wanted to. He brought humour, wit and entertainment into all of our lives. He was always the life and soul of any occasion and he would always make every occasion a memorable one. Anyone who met Gary will know he had an amazing capacity to make people like him and he touched our lives in many different ways. To call Gary unique would be underestimating him and it will be impossible to forget him. His passing will mean there will always be a void for many who knew him.
The University will certainly be a quieter place without him and he will be deeply missed by his colleagues and close personal friends, who will cherish the humour, the wit and the memories he has left us with.
