1. What do I need to wear for Graduation?
As this is a formal occasion, all graduands/diplomates are required to wear academic dress, which consists of gown, hood (where appropriate) and mortar board. Students are required to order this for the day of the graduation ceremony.
Advisable dress code under your academic dress:
Dark, smart clothes, or national dress, provided the gown can be worn over it.

Handy hints!
Bring some safety pins! The graduation hood is fastened by a loop that needs to be attached to a shirt/jacket button; it is recommended that you bring some safety pins to help secure this.
Bring some hairgrips to secure your mortar board.
2. Where can I order my academic dress from?
The company that holds the academic dress for the University is called Ede and Ravenscroft. To order your academic dress, including gown, hood (where appropriate) and mortar board, either go on-line at www.gownhire.co.uk| or telephone +44 (0) 1223 861854.
All academic dress will be available for collection from the University’s sports hall on the day of your ceremony. Further information on timings will be provided with your tickets.
