Important graduation dates
Mid July 2012: Examination Results Publication
All award-level results will be published through the Student Portal section ‘My Results’.
15 August – 24 October 2012: 'My Graduation'
Students who have successfully completed their course and received a final award will be able to access the online graduation ticket booking system. The booking system opens on 15 August 2012 and will close on 24 October 2012.
Students need to select the ‘My Graduation’ option on the Student Portal (if there are any outstanding fees and charges shown on your student account as unpaid, you will be unable to book into your graduation ceremony). Please contact the Student Accounts team on +44 (0)23 8031 9970 if you have any queries regarding your account status. To be able to make a booking, all outstanding monies must be cleared by 12 October 2012 at the latest and therefore cheque payments must be received by the University no later than two weeks before this date.
Through ‘My Graduation’ you will be able to book your graduation tickets and access a web link to arrange gown hire and photography. All bookings and hire arrangements must be completed by the closing date; no bookings will be taken after this date.
All guest tickets are allocated equally following the closure of the online booking system and not on a first-come, first-served basis. E-tickets should arrive around two weeks prior to the ceremonies.
Please note that students with an award/refer or defer decision will not be able to enter the booking system until they have accepted a final award or completed outstanding assessments. Students have until late July to notify their faculty of their wish to accept an award or they will be entered for resit examinations.
Late September 2012: Resit examinations publication
All award-level results from the second summer examinations board will be published through the Student Portal section ‘My Results’.
Students who have been awarded a final award will be able to access the online graduation ticket booking system ‘My Graduation’ in early October.
Please note, students with an award/refer or defer decision will not be able to enter the booking system until they have accepted a final award or completed outstanding assessments. Students have until mid September to notify their faculty of their wish to resit assignments or they will automatically be awarded their degree.
24 October 2012: Graduation booking system closes
If you have not booked in by the closing date, you will be unable to attend the ceremonies as all tickets will be allocated.
19-23 November 2012: Graduation ceremonies
Graduation ceremonies will be held at the Southampton Guildhall from Monday 19 November to Friday 23 November 2012. The ceremony schedule will be available in the summer of 2012. Students should arrive at the Guildhall at least 45 minutes before their ceremony is due to start, having first collected their gown from the Sports Hall on the East Park Campus.
