Biography

Vivienne Prudden graduated in Business Studies from the University of Hertfordshire.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Senior Lecturer in Accountancy, Viv joined Southampton Solent University in January 2004 and currently teaches on professional and undergraduate accountancy courses, as well as being a tutor for Level 6 of the Accountancy Degree. Viv is interested in the practical application of knowledge gained through studies and during her time at Solent, she has completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching.

Viv’s creative interests led her to complete a sculpture and ceramic qualification in her spare time and she shares her love of the arts and crafts with her two young daughters who enjoy being creative – and messy at times!

She swims to keep fit and spends much of her summer breaks in Dorset with her family.

Industry experience

A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Vivienne Prudden trained in St Albans with one of the UK’s leading provider of professional services, KPMG. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, she had a number of secondments within the company, including Financial Controller for the Training department.

Viv subsequently joined HSBC in Southampton as a Senior Analyst, where she was responsible for reviewing business cases, operational and strategic planning and providing management information.
