Biography

Julian Konczak has been involved in creative media production for the past 15 years, producing work in photography, video and, more recently, digital arts. 

Embracing digital technologies in video post-production, he has worked for a number of years as a freelance motion graphics and video editor, working on broadcast and corporate communication projects for blue chip clients, satellite television and interactive media.

Industry experience

His professional experience in this field has been fundamental to the development of the faculty pedagogy in the area of digital video technology. This has involved development of digital and interactive teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In addition, Julian has taught post-production software to corporate clients, and produced visuals for club events and musicians, recent work being featured as part of a tour which reached Montreal Jazz Festival.

Research interests

Current research encompasses project managing and editorial team member of HIDRAZONE.COM, a showcase of international digital art and related research. Recent research has been orientated around reconfiguring representative imagery into the interactive domain, and work has featured in national galleries and events.

Recent publications

In 2005 Julian was invited to lecture to postgraduate students at Beijing University on the subject of digital art.
