Biography

Since joining the University in 1993, Nik has been responsible for pioneering many of the creative design and advertising programmes taught on a number of courses across the University. As Senior Lecturer, his subject areas include: advertising, art direction, corporate identity and design, creativity and idea generation.

More recently, Nik has run training workshops in creative thinking for University staff and a number of external blue chip organisations such as British Gas, Ordnance Survey and United Biscuits.

Industry experience

Nik has worked in the advertising and design industry since 1981, when he began freelancing for the major London advertising agencies. After a two-year spell overseas as senior art director for BB&P, Grand Cayman, he returned to the UK to take the post of Creative Director at Rayner Advertising, Southampton. His past accounts have included Burger King, Hyatt Hotels, Holiday Inn, Red Funnel Ferries, Swinton Insurance, and TSB Bank.

Nik is currently studying part-time for his PhD and co-authoring a book on advertising.
