Lisa is the Fashion Programme Leader and teaches on many of the courses in the programme.
She joined the University in October 2002 as a part-time lecturer, going on to became an associate lecturer and then Programme Leader. She has been on a very steep learning curve since arriving here but has enjoyed the experience of teaching immensely.
Lisa studied BA (Hons) Fashion at what was then Southampton Institute, now Southampton Solent University, and graduated with a first class Honours in 1994. She went on to run her own business for many years, designing women's high fashion clubwear that retailed in the UK and in Europe.
Lisa has many ideas for the continued development of the Fashion Programme and plans to maintain the excellent atmosphere and energy that typifies the department. She is very proud of the excellent record that students have for gaining employment within the industry, and of the way that the courses are run. Keeping the content industry-relevant is of paramount importance to Lisa, as this ensures that students are always learning skills that will stand them in good stead for a career. She intends to continue all the good practice that has led to the course receiving much praise from industry.
In her spare time, Lisa likes to travel and take photographs of beautiful architecture, and spend time with her family.
