Before coming to what was then Southampton Institute, Chris worked for many years in the computing industry in software houses and end-user organisations as an analyst programmer, systems manager and freelance programmer, mainly in international finance and telecommunications.
Chris Bryson started teaching systems analysis on HND Computer Studies and soon after took on the running of the course. He is involved with initiatives within the Faculty to improve the student experience and to promote a deeper understanding of core topics. External examiners have always praised the courses for their use of innovative assessment methods, and the relevance of assignment and case study material to the problems encountered in the workplace.
"We like to think that we take students' views as well as industry requirements into consideration at both course and unit level, to produce programmes of study that are both interesting and enjoyable and will give our graduates the skills they need to begin successful careers in IT," says Chris.
Outside work he is a keen asymmetric dinghy sailor, windsurfer and pilot of paragliders and sailplanes.
