Southampton Solent University aims to foster a community with a culture of mutual trust, fairness, harmony and respect. The University implements policies to promote fair treatment and equality of opportunity for all present and potential students and staff, regardless of age, disability, ethnic or national origin,family responsibility or social class, gender identity, membership of professional associations or trade unions, marital/civil partnership status, political or religious beliefs, race, sex and sexual orientation.

Southampton Solent University Equality Scheme 2009/12| - Our Equality Scheme draws together the University’s responsibilities to promote fairness and equality in all aspects of diversity.

Equal Pay Review 2010| - Under the Solent NFA Agreement, Southampton Solent University is committed to undertake equal pay reviews every two years. Our first Equal Pay Review was undertaken in 2010.

Equality in Employment policy| - The University’s policy is to continue working towards an environment free from discrimination and intolerance in all forms and one in which everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

Student Equal Opportunities policy| - The aim of this policy is to promote fair treatment and equality of opportunity for all present and potential students.

Equality Report (Staff 2010/11)| - This report outlines progress made during the 2010/11 academic year on the nine protected characteristics (age, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, marriage and civil partnership, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation). The report also provides an outline of the planned activity on equality and diversity for 2011/12.

Equality Report (Students 2009/10)| - This report provides information and monitoring data on the student activities of recruitment, retention and academic success in relation to the equality strands of age, disability, race and gender.
