Alison Colley, Independent Governor
Alison Colley joined the Board in July 2010 and sits on the Remuneration and Resources committees.
Alison is a former student of the University where she studied the LLB Law course for three years. After graduating she went on to work for the Department for Work and Pensions in Southampton.
In order to pursue a career in the legal sector, Alison studied for a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law, Guildford at the weekend whilst working full-time.
After completing the Legal Practice course, Alison was employed as a Trainee Solicitor for Knight Polson, Solicitors in Eastleigh, and following two years' training she qualified as a Solicitor specialising in Employment and Civil Litigation.
In 2007 Alison took a career break to travel, and visited the USA, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia.
Upon returning to the UK, Alison went back to work at Knight Polson where she is currently employed and specialises in Employment Law and HR advice. Alison advises both employers and employees on a wide range of employment issues. She is also the HR Manager for the firm and is involved in business development and networking within the local business community.
In her spare time, Alison enjoys running and is also a keen sports fan.
