Dr Jo Mountfield, Independent Governor
J
o Mountfield joined the board in November 2009. She sits on the Student Liaison and Experience Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee.
Jo is a Consultant Obstetrician and Director of Education at Southampton University Hospital Trust with responsibility for the education and training of all staff across the Trust. She has a well-established interest in health-related education and training and completed a master’s degree in education at the University of Winchester, prior to her appointment as a Consultant nine years ago.
Before taking up the post of Director of Education, Jo was primarily involved in medical education, both locally and nationally, within Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and also the Head of the School of O&G for Wessex Deanery.
Jo has teenage children, one of whom is currently studying at university, and has varied outside interests including skiing, sailing and having fun.
