Professor Jenny Anderson, Dean Faculty of Business, Sport and Enterprise

Jenny began her career working in local authority leisure and tourism. After studying at the Universities of Birmingham and Strathclyde she took professional qualifications in leisure management. She also has a Masters in Research, and a PGCE from the University of Newcastle.
Over the last decade Jenny has led and been involved industry-based consultancies totaling over £300,000. Topics include the strategic management of volunteers, policy research and advice, and strategic market research. Clients include Southampton City Council, Hampshire County Council, Sport England, Royal Yachting Association and Amateur Rowing Association. She was Vice-Chair of the Leisure Studies Association and has recently been appointed Vice-Chair of the Recreation Committee of the Solent Forum.
She led a successful FDTL5 Higher Education Academy collaborative funded project on innovative assessment. She has been an external examiner at four institutions, and has undertaken external reviews at six. As a QAA reviewer she contributed to Subject Review in 2001, Foundation Degree Review in 2004, and a pilot review of HE strategy in further education colleges in 2008 funded by HEFCE.
Married with two children, Jenny is an outdoor enthusiast. She has climbed Kilimanjaro, and this year went to Everest Base Camp.
