Business Professional Development Centre
The Solent Enterprise Centre for Business Professional Development is focused on building imaginative external partnerships that meet the needs of employers and make a significant contribution to social justice and economic competitiveness in a fast-changing world.
Whether there is a need to upskill your workforce, gain a competitive edge in the jobs market, or progress in your current career, there is something for everyone in our comprehensive portfolio of professional courses. At the core of the portfolio is a suite of professional-body qualifications, including CIM, CIPD, ACCA, CIMA and ILEX, as well as short, bite-size bespoke training packages, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), Professional Development Units (PDU), and consultancy.

Innovation and Design
The Centre for Innovation and Design has a range of facilities and expertise to provide business solutions and people development or training. Our consultancy service offers a range of knowledge, support and equipment in marine, materials, design, naval architecture, the built environment and fashion. Available facilities include the Solent Surveyor vessel, Outside Broadcast van, tow tank with wave generator, Usability Lab, IT suites, and a digital design and rapid manufacture lab that incorporates 5-axis CNC Router, FDM Titan, 3D scanning and laser cutting.

Maritime Management
The Solent Enterprise Centre: Maritime Management will provide advanced professional development for senior seafarers and shore-side management in the field of leadership and communication. The hallmark of the new courses that are being developed for maritime professionals from an international clientele of shipping companies will be the creative use of alternative modes of delivery, including web-based delivery of material and distance coaching. The courses will also provide a link between continuous professional development and postgraduate qualifications.

Solent Productions
Solent Productions is a dedicated media production centre and part of the prestigious Skillset Media Academy Network. It offers commercial filming and editing services, dry hire of studio and production facilities, short courses for the creative industries, video archiving and digital asset management, as well as the full range of 'concept to screen' media production support services.

Sport, Tourism and Languages
The Solent Enterprise Centre for Sport, Tourism and Languages is one of the leading centres in its skills domain. It provides first-class support in a range of areas, from staff training in our fields of expertise- monitoring, evaluation and constancy to ready-made or bespoke short courses. These have been designed for the special needs of active individuals, industry and the business community. The Centre also has access to Government funding and support, which may provide the assistance you need.
