Vacancy Policy
Southampton Solent University's Careers & Employability team offers a free service for employers, recruitment agencies and voluntary organisations wanting to advertise their opportunities to Solent students and graduates.
Before you complete your registration and start advertising your opportunities please read the following terms and conditions.
Registering and advertising
We will endeavour to register your organisation within two days of receipt. Once registered, your organisation and logo will appear on our business directory for all users to access. You can then start advertising opportunities on our searchable database, which is accessed through Southampton Solent University’s internet and intranet sites. Once the vacancy has been advertised, students and graduates will apply to you directly via the site, as the Careers & Employability Service do not offer a placing service.
Opportunities we advertise
We reserve the right both to edit opportunities to fit into our database format and to reject those that contravene Southampton Solent University policy, Equal Opportunities legislation and the National Minimum Wage. Southampton Solent University Careers & Employability Service can accept no responsibility for any inaccuracies made when inputting data. Please do not hesitate to contact the Jobshop Online team if you notice any information that needs amending.
Jobshop Online does not advertise opportunities that are based in private residences or from employers who do not have a registered company name and address. We are also unable to advertise opportunities submitted via a free email service, such as Yahoo or Hotmail. We need a landline phone number for our records. If your company requires photos with completed applications or CVs please consider what purpose they serve and whether their use is objectively justifiable. If their use cannot be justified, your organisation could be liable for employment discrimination claims.
Overseas opportunities will be considered on a case by case basis but the minimum requirement is that you are a registered company in the UK.
Recruitment agencies
We are happy to advertise recruitment agency vacancies. If you are advertising a vacancy on behalf of another employer, the Employment team must be notified of their details including company name and address. We cannot advertise the vacancy until this information is received. Please be advised that this information will be held in strict confidence by the Employment team and will not be disclosed to any other third parties.
It is the employers’ responsibility to advise students on relevant insurance, tax and NI issues, as the Careers & Employability Service only advertises vacancies and does not screen students for, or advise on, individual vacancies.
Data Protection
The Jobshop Online service is owned and operated by the Careers & Employability Service within Southampton Solent University.
