Roverang 2008

Last week a crew of Level 1 and 2 MarTec students were asked to take the University's new outside broadcast (OB) truck to the Nuffield Theatre to film the 'Roverang 2008' show. Outside Broadcasting

Roverang is an annual variety show performed by 120 members of the local Scout and Guide associations. Students used six cameras and spent three long days filming the show for a future DVD project.

The project gave students the opportunity to get a real taste of location TV production and a chance to use the OB truck for the very first time. The new truck was prominently parked near the main road and gave the University plenty of exposure and generated a lot of public interest.

Tony Wade, Outside Broadcasting Course leader said: "Students overcame minor issues such as a flat vehicle battery, and managed to shoot some quality material. The Nuffield crew were impressed with how good the show looked on-screen, and this has been a great first project for our new vehicle."
