BASES Student Conference 2010

Thirteen students from the Applied Sport Science, Sports Coaching and Fitness and Personal Training degrees travelled to the University of Aberystwyth to present at The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) National Student Conference.

The event was held over two days and is an opportunity for undergraduate and postgraduate students from Sport and Exercise Departments from around the country to showcase their research. The group from Southampton Solent University was one of the biggest delegations, making quite an impact on the Conference.

The Conference began with introductory sessions from Professor Jo Doust from the University of Brighton and Professor Andy Jones from the University of Exeter. The students then engaged in their own oral or poster presentations over the course of the following two days. The research was very well received, with the students being asked tough questions and answering admirably.

The Conference was rounded off by a lively evening including the Conference meal and entertainment until the small hours - a well-earned diversion for the hard-working students.
