Honorary degree for comedian Jo Brand
One of Britian’s best-loved female comics can now add another achievement to her extensive career successes in the form of an honorary degree from Southampton Solent University.
Brand, who received the Doctor of Media degree from the University on November 3rd, was awarded for her contribution to the media industries. Her previous accomplishments include the hit TV series Through the Cakehole, numerous appearances on comedy panel shows, and a succession of novels.
Brand accepted the award during a graduation ceremony in Southampton’s Guildhall. She is currently starring in Getting On, BBC4 Tuesdays at 10pm.
