We are a civic university and were among the first in the UK to officially launch a civic agreement – Solent’s Civic Charter. How can we collaborate?
Community meeting space
Once a month we make our community meeting space available for use by local charities and community organisations. Perfect for hosting committee or local partnership meetings, workshops, or training for a maximum of 15 people.
Residential support
Solent University takes its role within the community very seriously, especially in residential areas where the student population is high. Here you can find out what to do if you encounter a problem
Sport education partnerships
The Sport Education Partnership programme provides a range of contemporary continuous professional development (CPD) and support services designed to support and enhance the local school curriculum.
Health 4 Her
Health 4 Her is a weight loss intervention for women of ethnic minority and aims to improve the health and wellbeing of participants through education and physical activity in a female exclusive environment.
Recruitment and volunteering
From part-time seasonal work to volunteering opportunities, you can promote your opportunities for free on our online jobs board. Simply register an account, upload your details, and promote your opportunities to our alumni and student communities.
Placements
Varying in duration to meet the needs of your organisation, student placements provide you with the chance to benefit from fresh insight while providing our students with an opportunity to apply their academic learning. Placements can provide a great short-term resource for your business while providing an opportunity to develop pipelines of future talent.
Solent Creatives
Got a creative project that requires extra resource? Maybe you need a photographer or videographer, or have a graphic design project that needs some creative expertise? Our in-house student creative agency promotes paid work from organisations that can be undertaken by students outside of their studies.

Solent has two teams dedicated to supporting your students. Through engaging and interactive events and activities, we are here to help them discover the many opportunities in higher education and the careers that could be available to them.
