The Southampton Solent University Conference Centre is located in the heart of the city centre. Travel to and from the conference centre is easy and convenient; it is just a five-minute walk from Southampton Central train station and it is within easy reach of motorways, ferries and Southampton International Airport.

Driving to Southampton
From the north:
From the M3 southbound, exit at junction 14 and take the second exit at the roundabout (A33, Bassett Avenue). After a mile take the first exit at the mini roundabout and continue along the A33 for approximately 2 miles. At the next roundabout take the first exit. Shortly, upon reaching the next roundabout, take the fourth exit and proceed along Brunswick Place (Ring Road West). Continue through six sets of traffic lights until you pass the large clock tower on the left. At the next traffic lights bear left into Civic Centre Road and then quickly left into West Marlands Road. Continue to the end of this road where the rear of the conference centre is located on the right side of the road. For parking (Grosvenor Square Car Park), turn right at the fourth set of traffic lights on the Ring Road West. The conference centre in Above Bar Street can be accessed by crossing West Park.
From the west:
From the M27 eastbound, exit at junction 3, and join the M271 at the roundabout (third exit) and follow signs for Southampton. At the end of the M271, take the first exit onto the A33 and continue towards Southampton. Continue along this road until you pass Southampton Central railway station on the left, and continue to the top of the hill. At the traffic lights, from the middle lane, continue straight on into Civic Centre Road (passed the front of the Civic Centre) and turn left into West Marlands Road. Continue to the end of this road where the rear of the conference centre is located on the right side of the road. For parking (Grosvenor Square car park) take the left hand lane at the traffic lights at the top of the hill and continue to the third set of traffic lights and turn left. The conference centre in Above Bar Street can be accessed by crossing West Park.
From the east:
From the M27 westbound, exit at junction 7 and join the A334 towards Southampton.
The nearest long stay car parks are Grosvenor Square and Bedford Place car parks. Should these car parks be full, please use the link below for details of other city centre parking facilities.

Alternatively, if you are visiting the conference centre after 4.30pm during the week, or at the weekend, free parking can be accessed at the main East Park Terrace car park. This car park is situated a short five-minute walk through East Park to the conference centre. Please note that this parking is limited and offered on a first come first served basis. Train service to Southampton
From London, please travel from London Waterloo station.
The closest train station to us is Southampton Central Station.
From London and the north:
From platform 4 leave the station, turn left, walk along Western Esplanade and up the hill. On reaching the top of the hill (500 metres), the Civic Centre will be in front of you with the clock tower to your left. Continue in the same direction as before and cross the road using the pedestrian crossings, and walk a further 200 metres, until you reach Above Bar Street (High Street). At this stage you will see a large crossroads with traffic lights, and KFC on your left next to you. Turn left here, onto Above Bar Street, and continue for 150 metres where you will find the Sir James Matthews building on your left.

From Bournemouth and the west:
From the exit on platform 1, turn right and continue along Blechynden Terrace, behind the Mayflower Theatre. Continue along this road up the hill to the top. Cross the road using the pedestrian crossing and continue on to Commercial Road, where the SeaCity Museum and library will be on your right. The Sir James Matthews building will now be in front of you. Turn right into Above Bar Street to find the entrance.
