"The business world is changing very fast. Technology is bringing societies together as world trade reaches its highest level ever. These factors have given rise to increased competition amongst companies.

"With these changes in mind, I decided to do a course in Marketing because of its increasing role in organisations as competition is forcing them to become more customer-oriented. This has created a big opportunity for well-qualified personnel in industry to find satisfying and exciting careers in various area of marketing. The creative aspect of marketing appealed to me most in that although there are concepts and principles to be followed, the creativity of an individual is called upon to come up with products and communications that are better than the competitor and satisfy the ever-demanding customer.

"When I visited websites and reviewed the prospectuses of various UK universities and higher education institutions, I concluded that the course at Southampton Business School had more flexible entry and exit routes. Moreover, successful completion provided maximum exemptions to the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Diploma as well as meeting the academic criteria for attaining the MCIM status, which is a well-recognised and respected status in the marketing profession.

"Being from Malawi, the warmer climate in the south of England was also attractive due to my lack of experience of living in a very cold climate. I found the city to be a small but very good place to live in with friendly people and a clean environment. Southampton Solent University is a modern centre of education with state of the art IT facilities and a hugely well-equipped library.

"I will always remember Southampton Business School as having played a crucial role in providing me with the necessary knowledge and credentials for a successful career in Marketing."
