"The MA Marketing Management is an extremely interesting and diverse course for people of all ages and from all business backgrounds.
"Coming straight from a degree in Human Resource Management I was worried that I would struggle, this was not the case; basic principles were quickly learnt and then a range of optional units gave an interesting insight into the various aspects of marketing. I found the course extremely fascinating, with friendly and helpful lecturers, and a range of students from different cultures and backgrounds giving valuable insight into marketing across the world. It has led me into a job in international marketing and logistics where many aspects of the MA are proving very beneficial. I would recommend the course to any student who has an interest in any aspect of marketing. It has proved to be a thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile year."

"The first thing I noticed about the MA course, having come directly from a degree is the workload! The MA course is more intense than the first degree but with a more mature and relaxed teaching style.
"The learning is in depth yet fast-paced; the standard is high; the volume of work is heavy and the deadlines are tight and constant.
"However, the achievement of receiving a Masters is well worth the work, both in terms of personal and professional satisfaction. I currently hold the position of Business Development Executive for a London-based firm, a position I am confident my Masters helped make possible."
Michele Curran
"Since graduating from MA Marketing Management I successfully secured a job as a regional Business Development executive with a medium sized company working in the construction sector. Having been successful in this role I have been given the opportunity to utilize my research and strategic skills gained through my MA in a new Strategic role at Group level.
"My role involves the analysis, forecast and recommendation of strategies to help the company fulfil its medium to long term corporate objectives. I have found that completing my MA in Marketing Management has definitely helped me pursue the career that I have wanted and I continue to be able to apply skills and knowledge gained during that time to my work."
Grant Ellis
"The Business School places a lot of emphasis on vocational study. The lecturing staff are not just academics, but are also experienced in industry. The skills, theories and techniques that are taught are therefore conveyed in a way that places the application of skills in the context of the working environment. It was for this reason that I continued at the school to study for my MA in Marketing Management. I am finding this a very stimulating addition to my degree."
Grant has set up a small digital design company called Cre8ology as a testbed for some of research that he was doing for his MA. The company continues to flourish in Southampton supplying web based design solutions to a range of clients. He now co-ordinates the marketing activity of a large automation software development company in Essex and is responsible for the full the marketing mix from planning to branding, PR and market research.
The management skills taught on the MA have allowed Grant to manage these elements simultaneously. He says: "I really feel that the MA has given me the extra push that I needed to secure a long term career in marketing. It differentiates me in the workplace and has allowed me to progress in my career more quickly.
"My first degree gave me an excellent grounding and the MA has enabled me to develop my understanding of how the skills I had learned would fit in to the modern world of professional marketing."
