Albert Tibaujuka

2012

Class of 2005

Having completed a BA in Mass Communication, I was working as a Tutorial Assistant at St. Augustine University of Tanzania when a friend recommended Southampton Solent University as the ideal place to complete a MA Media course.

I arrived at Southampton Solent University in October 2004 and was immediately struck by the friendly atmosphere and received a lot of support from lecturers, course coordinators and the supervisor of my MA dissertation.

The MA Media course offered me extensive opportunities and continuous challenges and these provided me with a range of new skills. Among my most rewarding experience was the opportunity to study media from a global perspective, seeing it as an important tool for communication and development, but also a tool for domination and a weapon of mass deception. Moreover, the course has enabled me to get more knowledge in the discipline of public relations and research techniques and methodologies. All of these skills are of vital help in my new job as an Assistant Lecturer at St. Augustine University of Tanzania.

I was very lucky to take MA Media course at Southampton Solent University.
