Course overview

solent acoustics_on whiteThe Institute of Acoustics Diploma in Acoustics and Noise control is a graduate entry qualification which is designed to provide the key requirements for entry into the acoustics industry.

Graduates of the programme will find a wide variety of employment opportunities from industrial sectors varying from heavy industry to music and entertainment. It is the key entry qualification to gain corporate membership of the Institute of Acoustics, which can lead to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Attendance

The course is run part-time over the duration of one year, and can be run in ‘attended’ or ‘Tutored Distance Learning’ modes. Solent Acoustics is a distance learning centre for the Diploma.

Distance learning candidates in the Hampshire/South Coast region should register with the IoA via their website (www.ioa.org.uk|) and will be assigned a tutor at Solent. There is an attendance element for the Distance Learning mode, with 10 days of tutorials at Solent university, and two short residential laboratory sessions at Liverpool John Moores University.
