Ideal for organisational employees or business owners/managers wishing to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act 2010, and develop skills to ensure that they are up to date with developments as the legislation.
Overview
Drawing on experiential learning, those who have an interest in, or role relating to, the promotion of equality and diversity in the workplace gain knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act 2010. This ensures they are up to date with the legislation as it is implemented.
Participants examine the impact of the Act on employers and explore other key sources of law relating to the promotion of equality and diversity in the UK.
Areas of study are tailored to specific organisational needs for in-house training and development, but generally include additional duties for Public Bodies, extended protection against age, disability, associative and perceptive discrimination, enhanced equal pay provisions, wider powers for Employment Tribunals, combined claims and Positive Action.

Benefits

Delivery
Delivery of tutor-led interactive workshops, with handouts, references and online learning materials, can be tailored to meet specific organisational needs for in-house training and development.
Tutors provide face-to-face and online activities, formative feedback and marked assessment between directed self-study.
Assessment
Assessment is through a 1,000 word report or 10-minute presentation on the implementation of the Equality Act in the workplace, relating to participants’ own workplace, or one they have selected.
Online quizzes provide informal formative feedback, enabling participants to reflect on progress.
