Overview
Provides an overview and basic introduction of the finance function of organisations, setting participants up for progression. Participants develop an understanding of the language of finance, enabling them to further understand finance function and outputs within an organisation.
Areas are tailored to specific organisational needs for in-house training and development, but generally include financing of organisations, financial planning, accounting reports and investment decisions.

Delivery
Teaching is delivered in a block of study that can be divided into a number of sessions to reflect individual participants’ needs and location of study.
Designed for those who need to develop a greater understanding of an organisation’s finance function, formal teaching sessions are interspersed with student-centered and practical activities. This provides participants with the basic skills and knowledge to develop their own financial systems.
It is supported by the University’s online learning resource, myCourse.
Assessment
A written report enables participants to compare and contrast learning within sessions with the practice of their own or another organisation.
