Who is this for?

Professionals and those with entrepreneurial ambitions interested in starting and/or leading social enterprise projects.

Overview

Participants enhance their knowledge and skills in social enterprise, the governance and leadership of projects and community initiatives.
Delivered as a block with interactive, tutor-led workshops and directed study, the approach is developmental and flexible. It takes into account individual experiences and backgrounds.

Participants gain practical and theoretical learning through social enterprise projects in paid employment or voluntary roles within an organisation in the community. Areas of study are tailored to group needs.

Participants identify their own learning contracts, depending on levels of experience and opportunities available. However, all learn to identify key purposes of social enterprise regeneration and explore what makes community projects effective. They develop skills in setting and managing goals, holding effective meetings, recruiting and motivating people, and marketing.

Assessment support and input in personal action plans and reflection is ongoing.
