My animation The Love Train was inspired by a lonely hearts advert I read while searching the newspaper for ideas for my final film. It kept playing on my mind and any other possible ideas went out the window. I was interested in having a female main character which I could put more of myself into, and I knew I wanted to have a happy ending, which meant the problem was working out what happened in-between. My aim was to make a film which made sense and had elements of human emotion which people could identify with.
Since leaving Southampton my film has been show in many film and animation festivals around the world and I have received encouraging feedback from viewers.
The Animation course at Southampton was organised in a sympathetic and professional way to make sure the students had lot of time to complete their film. I found the advice and guidance from the tutors extremely helpful in making sure I was aware of how much work would be involved to finish the project, that I had fully developed my ideas, and that I was making something worthwhile.
