Course overview

The HNC/HND Business degree (part-time) at Southampton Solent University is an innovative and flexible programme which provides a broad-based educational experience to students of business. Students can choose to follow a path through to BA (Hons) Business Studies or choose to leave after gaining the HNC or HND in Business.

Part-time students normally qualify for the HNC in two years; conversion to the HND takes a further year and students who choose to continue their studies may then gain the BA (Hons) in under two years. However, you can select your pace of study or can leave and rejoin the course as your personal circumstances dictate.

With the flexibility of being largely able to manage your own pace of study it is possible to progress from the HNC right through to the BA (Hons) degree in a minimum of four years. Alternatively, at the slowest pace, it would take 8 years to complete the same course.

The course is taught by experienced academic staff, many of whom have a background in industry. Their knowledge is invaluable at bringing this course to life and giving you the best balance of theory with practical application.

As a student with the university you will also have full access to our library resources, on-line journals and IT support; as well as career advice and guidance through our award winning Student 1st Support Service.
