Student profile
Tutu Obasa
Second year student Tutu Obasa from London currently lives in the university's halls of residence.
She applied solely to Southampton Solent University to do Computer Network Management and was very pleased when she was accepted. Traditionally a male orientated subject Tutu explains how there is a good mixture of boys and girls now but admits she is the only female in one of her classes!
Possessing a flair for maths she particularly enjoys the communication technology module but has also created her own website as part of a website design class.
Although she doesn't enjoy the early lectures she says the amount of time they spend in lectures is perfect with plenty of spare time to read notes, do work or sleep!
Describing her course Tutu says: "It's challenging and mathematical but you learn new stuff every day."
A keen cyclist and traveller, she has recently visited Paris, Austria and Italy.
Having appeared in a music video for a friend she is eager to take part in other projects and was hoping to star as an extra in Richard Curtis's new comedy The Boat That Rocked.
When she graduates next year Tutu doesn't have any specific plans and wants to try out lots of things but says she is certainly considering a career in computer network management.
