General entry requirements
Each course has its own specific entry requirements. We advise you to look at the University website and the course ‘Entry profiles', which are subject specific profiles detailing entry qualification, entry criteria and course description.
The course profile will determine the grades you will need to achieve in your examinations. All courses expect you to demonstrate breadth as well as depth of study in your education and to have reached a specified standard.
The entry requirements for courses shown in ‘UCAS tariff points’ are based on your sixth-form study or equivalent level study. We normally expect applicants to have studied for two years at this level and to reach the age of 18 years no later than during their first year of study at the University.
Some of our courses also require applicants to have passed subject specific GCSEs at Grade C or above and may require an interview, audition and portfolio viewing. Some courses will require CRB checks. These will be shown in the course entry profiles.
You must satisfy the minimum entry criteria but must also meet the course specific requirements of their chosen course which will normally be higher than the minimum indicated.
Please note that even if you satisfy minimum entry qualifications, you are not necessarily guaranteed a place on the course of your choice.
