The Digital Music course maintains close links with the music industry and there are regular visits by leading producers and DJs who give talks and workshops, sharing their knowledge and experience with the students.
The University has awarded a Visiting Fellowship to the internationally renowned DJ, James Zabiela, in recognition of his cutting edge performance and technical DJing skills - appreciated by clubbers, DJs and producers around the world.
As a musical globetrotter, James regularly performs in leading venues in the UK, USA, Europe, Canada, Japan, and Australia, and often shares his sets with notable DJs and producers Sasha and John Digweed. His '1+1' album - made in collaboration with Nic Fanciulli and released by Ministry of Sound - was the fastest selling album in the company's history. He is also technical consultant for Japan-based manufacturer of electronics, Pioneer, assisting in the development of their world-renowned DJ equipment.
James often visits the course, and is hugely popular with the Digital Music students. He effortlessly transfers his talents from the big stage to the classroom with his pure skill demonstrations, friendly chat and advice.
