"Undertaking an English and Magazine Journalism degree at 
Southampton Solent University has given me great respect for both the literary and journalistic professions. With continual support from the fabulous and enthusiastic lecturers, I have learnt new and exciting ways to study and gain all kinds of skills relating to both areas of my degree.
"All the units on the course are equally interesting and studying a combined degree has been a fantastic and unique experience. Even though some aspects of the course are very different, they are kept cleverly intertwined.
"There have been opportunities to take part in interesting activities to help students gain professional knowledge and work-experience.We have attended exhibitions in London and on-site events with accomplished guest speakers. Next year we will be going to New York to see what the publication industry there is really like. On a less formal level social events are regularly planned for the whole class.
"Southampton Solent University is an animated and friendly place with industry- standard facilities. The most striking thing about the university is the huge variety of courses on offer, this means a diverse range of students which makes for many enriching experiences. There is always someone new to meet.
"We are all kept interested and motivated about every aspect of the course, I have only just finished my first year but I am already eagerly anticipating the next."
