Thomas Maccoy

2012

With my anamorphic steel sculptures I am trying to illustrate how we see our world and each other and provoke the idea that we should and can view it from a different angle or perspective.

Using anamorphosis I can hide messages or images that the viewer has to search for themselves. This then gives them the time to possibly ponder on and think deeper into the idea.

I can only hope that in producing these pieces I merely plant a small seed of insightful thought into the huge field of confusion that one can obtain through life. Possibly leading the observer, eventually, to some luscious fruit that their minds can indulge upon.
