Graduate profile
Jess Keeley
"I have just completed my second year in Fitness and Personal Training at Southampton Solent University and am happy to say it’s exactly what I was looking for! I feel the course is essential to gaining a career in the fitness industry. The progress I have made both personally and academically is amazing!
“I had never even imagined I would go to university – after my GCSEs I was keen to go straight into the world of work and got a job at a gym. However, I had a change of heart and decided to finish my A Levels. I am really glad I did!
My favourite modules are the personal training units. Just two years in, I already hold several recognised qualifications which I am putting to good use in my holiday job as a Senior Instructor and Manager at my local gym. I also hope to use my new skills in setting up my own part time training practice. I am REPs approved meaning that when I have gained all my qualifications, I will be able to work in a gym safely.
“Studying Fitness and Personal Training will definitely provide you with the tools to achieving a career in fitness, but be prepared to work hard for them!"
