Sport and Tourism Foundation
Course length: 4 years as part of an extended version of one of the degrees listed below
Overview
The Foundation Year provides for the needs of students who require a period of study to update or broaden their knowledge base before attempting Year 1 of a degree programme.
It forms an integral part of an extended degree course and it aims to provide you with a range of basic knowledge and skills in the context of sport and tourism.
Assessment
This is based on a combination of continuous assessments and examinations to prepare students for the range of assessments that normally form part of an undergraduate course.
Transferable skills are an integral element of this Foundation Year.
Entry level
The general admissions policy is to enable students from a variety of educational backgrounds to be admitted onto a sport, tourism, fitness and exercise or outdoor degree. You must adequately demonstrate the intellectual potential, personal commitment and attitude to work that is necessary for successful completion of your chosen programme of higher education study.
Passing the Foundation Year of a degree enables you to automatically progress onto the first year of your chosen degree course at the University without needing to re-apply through UCAS.
Note
There are different UCAS codes for degrees with a Foundation Year. You must ensure that the correct UCAS code, as listed below , is entered on the application form.
