How did you get interested in your subject?
I've always enjoyed learning about towers, bridges, buildings and so on, and I wanted to know more about them.
What had you studied before applying to the University?
Before coming to university I studied Maths, Physics, Product Design and German at A Level.
Why did you apply to Southampton Solent University?
My course is mixed in with Electronic Engineering and Engineering with Business so I knew I would get to develop skills in a wide variety of areas
What do you enjoy most about your studies?
I enjoy mixing with all the people on the various courses, full-time and part-time, and also the time spent in the workshops putting principles learned in lectures into practice.
What's the best thing about student life here?
The social side of being a student is great. Southampton has so many places to go to on a night out and there are plenty of things to do in the daytime besides studying. Bournemouth beach is only a short drive away and it takes less than two hours to get to London. It's ideally situated, with everything nearby.
What do you hope to do when you finish the course?
When I finish the course, I would want to get a job with a company where I could put my newly learned skills to good use. There is such a wide range of areas that I could work in, it's almost impossible to decide where I could work in the future!
